L’éditeur américain Criterion vient, comme à l’accoutumée, en ce milieu de mois, de révéler ses titres à venir pour dans trois mois. Après quelques mois particulièrement chargés en terme de gros titres, notamment sur support haute définition, l’éditeur lève un peu le pied tout en annonçant quelques beaux titres.

Commençons par Naked de Mike Leigh en Blu-ray. Alors que vient d’arriver dans les bacs d’import il y a quelques jours Topsy Turvy du même réalisateur et dans la même collection, le 12 juillet prochain. Les bonus reprendront ceux déjà présents de l’édition double DVD, soient :

Considéré comme beaucoup comme « le plus beau film du monde », Le Salon de Musique de Satyajit Ray vient rejoindre la précieuse collection en DVD et Blu-ray. Espérons que la qualité soit au rendez-vous, mais avec Criterion, il n’y a pas trop de risque à ce niveau. Voilà les bonus prévus :

A la même date, La Belle et la bête de Jean Cocteau va avoir droit à une édition Blu-ray. Là encore, le support, nous l’espérons, pourra rendre la magnificence du travail pictural de cette pépite intemporelle du cinéma hexagonal. Bonne nouvelle, la piste audio de l’opéra de Philip Glass sera incluse en bonus, entre la piste originale remastérisée et des commentaires audios de spécialistes.

La semaine suivante, un autre chef d’oeuvre français va avoir droit à une sortie chez Criterion en Blu-ray. C’est en effet le 26 juillet que va paraître Léon Morin, prêtre de Jean Pierre Melville, décidément bien représenté chez l’éditeur américain (ce sera le huitième film à sortir en vidéo chez Criterion du cinéaste, qui en a signé treize). Bien évidemment, il faut bien admettre que les gargantuesques suppléments des précédentes éditions s’épuisent un peu ici :

Toujours prévu pour le 26 juillet, Entre le ciel et l’enfer en Blu-ray viendra là encore s’ajouter à la collection de tous les films du réalisateur Akira Kurosawa déjà sortis chez Criterion. Ce film noir qui raconte une erreur dans un kidnapping (où à la place du fils d’un patron milliardaire, c’est celui du majordome qui est enlevé) est une œuvre à la fois politique et d’une redoutable efficacité.

Finissons avec un film contemporain, du réalisateur de Bienvenue dans l’âge ingrat (Welcome to the Dollhouse), Storytelling, Palindromes, ou encore Happiness. D’ailleurs, Life during Wartime, sorti l’année dernière dans nos salles, est la « suite » de ce dernier, ou en tout cas fonctionne en miroir. On peut y reconnaître la patte clairement identifiable de son auteur Todd Solondz. Voilà les suppléments des éditions DVD t Blu-ray prévus pour le 26 juillet.
