Une fois encore, l’éditeur Criterion annonce ses prochains titre à venir. Et une fois encore, la sélection est pour le moins aussi alléchante qu’éclectique. Au programme, Kubrick (deux films pour le prix d’un !), Polanski, Jean Vigo, Cocteau et autres !

Commençons par La Bataille d’Alger de Gilles Pontecorvo. Il est prévu le 9 août 2011 dans une édition pour le moins chargée en terme de suppléments, mais encore une fois à l’image du film.

Une semaine plus tard, c’est Cul de Sac de Roman Polanski à paraître dans la collection. Second film du réalisateur à paraître sous le label, il devrait être suivi, nous pouvons en être certain, de Un Couteau dans l’eau (et de ses courts métrages) dans les mois à venir. Alors que l’exposition consacrée au réalisateur de Orange Mécanique et 2001, l’Odyssée de l’espace bat son plein à la Cinémathèque française, Kubrick aura droit à son édition de L’Ultime Razzia en DVD et Blu-ray. L’excellente surprise, en plus de voir un nouveau film du metteur en scène de génie après Les Chemins de la gloire, est de voir inclus Le Baiser du tueur en supplément. Le film, nous l’espérons, sera en haute définition comme pouvait le proposer Blow Up de Brian de Palma.

Retour à un nouveau classique, avec Orphée de Jean Cocteau. En effet, après La Belle et la bête, c’est le 30 août que l’éditeur décidera de sortir ce titre. Devraient certainement sortir dans quelques mois Le testament d’Orphée et Le sang d’un poète. Notons qu’une mention Collector’s set est précisé sans que nouss n’en sachions plus à l’heure actuelle.
